Has anyone had experiences fishing/exploring Flour lake (off the Clearwater road)?

thinking about a short trip using their fishing boat, i think it has a 7hp motor.

stayed at the campground in AUG 2011. Clear water, mainly SMB-- but big eyes are present.
Tough to fish from with me and a 6 year old and family. Might be different with a more serious effort. For eyes I would focus low light and shallow relative to your time of fishing season. Likely only a 30-45 minute bite during dusk/dawn in that clear of water.
Throw in a nice chop and windward side might extend things a bit. SMB should hit all day long along rocky points and shore lines.( jigs and plastic) The resort will have up to date info.
Just my .02

If you can fish a different lake, do it! I’m not being the least bit sarcastic…literally every other lake up there is better fishing! Great campground! Terrible fishing! Nearby Hungry Jack or West Bearskin lakes are much better options.

Do you have any other recommendations on those Gunflint area lakes for good fishing that don’t have motor size restrictions? Trying to do a three generation trip for my father.

Hungry Jack and West Bearskin Lakes. Loon is full of tiny bass, but big pike and decent lake trout numbers.
