I really did enjoy reading this, TB! It is so much fun to see Aurora as a young woman now, and to remember reading the trip reports when she was a baby in the bow of the canoe! Also, this is an area that I always sort of hoped we would explore, but we never did, so it was neat to read about your experience. We never lived close enough to have a three-day trip, and I do envy you that situation, too.

I love the way you "talk" in your reports:

"The unerring manner of Father time revealing the inevitable realities of this life give me pause, and I take a moment to thank and praise the Lord for gracing me with these reflective recollections and experiences and this occasion to create more." I was touched deeply by this comment. Of course, given the changes in our lives in the last year+, and our inability to trek the portages together anymore, it brought just a bit of a nostalgic feeling. . .but I do understand exactly what you were saying. I hope you and Aurora can continue to creat memories for many more years, and that you will share your travels with us. It is always a pleasure to paddle and portage with you.

Thanks so much for this awesome report! Your timing is perfect as I am doing this route from Hog Creek/Perent side beginning Jun 18. I plan to portage this area the first day and the details you offered helped answer a bunch of my unknowns. I will continue west thru Bald eagle then up and over to the numbered lakes eventually landing back at EP 37. Goal is 4 days for 82ish miles. I’ll keep good notes and try to write a useful report upon my return. Thanks again for the intel on this section!
