We wanted to let folks know that the newest editions of the Eastern and Western BWCA planning books by Lou Dzierzak are now available for pre-order and are expected to begin shipping next week.
These classic BWCA planning guides have been helping paddlers for decades. The first editions, written by Robert Beymer, came out in 1978 and became trusted resources for generations of Boundary Waters travelers. Lou Dzierzak later took over as author, and this latest release is his second edition.
Whether you are planning your first BWCA trip or have been paddling for years and are looking for new routes to explore, these books remain a valuable resource. In an age of websites, apps, and online maps, there is still something important about a well-organized guidebook. They are easy to reference, built to last, and full of route information that can help you think through a trip from start to finish.
A special thank you to the BWCA.com members who helped Lou with updates, route details, and local knowledge for this latest edition. It is great to see the community continue to contribute to resources that help others enjoy and protect the Boundary Waters. And thank you to Lou for keep these updated and relevant.
