Hello all,
It's been a few years since I have been to the BWCA and I'm bringing my wife up. We are stopping in Ely for a day on our way to Voyager.

Do you have any recommendations for short hikes (3-4 miles total) that have a vehicle parking lot to give her a glimpse of the Boundary Waters without a canoe?

Thanks all in advance!

Bass Lake Trail is your best bet. Kawishiwi Falls Trail is nice but a short hike.

While there is an extended (much longer than your requested distance) loop, you can hike back to Angleworm on the portage trail and get a glimpse of the Lake. Retracing your path back out would be about a 4-5 mile hike.
