Does anyone have Pics from Alpine Lake in the last year? I haven't been there for 10+ years when it was a Moonscape. Are the trees coming back? Thinking about taking a group there this season...

Went thru there a couple weeks ago. Looked like any other BW lake to me. If it got burnt or something I didn’t see any evidence of it. We were moving fast on a day out via Seagull.

There was a huge fire in 2005. Looked like the Moon!

Went last year, 2 inch poplars and a lot of beavers eating them. Not much for height on the tree's maybe 10-20 foot. Some islands did not get burnt, most did.

We stayed a night on the eastern side of Alpine just recently (6/11/2026). Plenty of trees of varying heights and species. Three other groups were camping too.

My father/daughter's second trip to BWCA was in 2013 and we did a Seagull/Alpine/Red Rock/Ogish kind of loop. It was more freshly burned then, but the campsites mostly survived and the fishing was good. Fast forward to 2020 and Covid, we did Seagull and Alpine again and the campsites and the fishing were still good. I would not hesitate to revisit this part of BWCA.
