Ha! Love it.
Did a similar loop back around 2015. North Fowl, Moose, Mountain and down to Pine. That's some big water up there, my goodness.

this is such a beautiful area and less used, i think, due to the option of motorboats and the length of portages. it's gorgeous in the fall!

sounds like your trip met your goals and you both had a good time.

I did this trip a few years ago, except I started and ended on Clearwater. I agree that site 727 on West Pike is a great campsite.

I have not been to North Fowl Lake in years but I can remember thinking that the portage to Mountain was very good and I pulled my canoe out of the way just in case someone came along. It wasn't long after a party of 3 canoes came along which was pretty busy for me. I usually don't run into other canoeists so that was a surprise to me. I used to fish were the Arrow River meets the Pigeon River and never ran into anybody there. I'm sure that you could get from North Fowl Lake to Fort Charlotte and arrange a pick up at Out Law Bridge on the old Hwy 61 from either side of the Pigeon River.
