Is this only for overnight travel? Is day use ok? I know from previous closures, day use was still permitted.

I would assume that the entry point is closed for all traffic. They have allowed day traffic during drought/weather related closures, but this is a fire specific closure. Those usually shut the whole EP down.

I think that’s right. In 2021 I was on a trip out of EP 14 and got kicked out of the BWCA due to a fire closure. When I got back to my car at the EP there was a USFS ranger in a truck and yellow police tape across the entrance to the portage. He told me they had people staged at all the closed EPs to make sure no one tried to go in.

I want to subscribe to this thread. I'm logged in and the button click doesn't give the user any feedback. It doesn't "do anything" Now that I am posting, I have a little bubble that asks to subscribe to thread. I clicked yes and I presume that will work. Hey BWCA.com team, you guys might want to look at that.

I'm not sure what browser you are using, but when you click the button you should get a notification that pops up that says you subscribed. Next time you refresh the page you should see the button at the bottom change from subscribe to unsubscribe. If neither of those happens, then check if you have javascript turned off in browser.

Hitting the 'Subscribe' box at the bottom of any thread also does nothing for me. Will see what happens when I check the 'Subscribe to this thread' bubble on this reply. Apple Safari
