I ordered the new (6th) edition Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness guide books by Louis Dzierzak, a few weeks ago from my local book store, and I just picked them up today.
I have had a few of the previous versions, but I wanted to support the effort and see what is new. Color is new.. at least for me, color pictures inside. It also appears that Adam and many others from the messageboards provided valuable information for the updated book.
I have found these books essential for trip planning, even though I have completed around thirty week-long trips in the BWCAW, Quetico and WCPP, there are always new ideas and new areas to explore.
I have found the route finding, time allotment and descriptions accurate and super helpful.
Even the fires can't dampen the dreams of the next trip that the guidebooks provide!
Thank you to Robert Beymer and Louis Dzierzak for the wonderful guidebooks.
