What's it weigh when all is said & done?

It’s a little awkward to weigh, but with the pads it seems to come in right around 2.5 pounds.

I haven’t had much of a chance to use the trolley yet but it seems to work well. I mounted it because we have some strong currents here and I wanted to be able to use a stakeout pole or anchor to secure the canoe for fishing.

I put high density foam on the seat frame of my Advantage and for short carries it's quite comfy to just rest the boat on my head. For crew comfort it's important to pad the uprights too.

That looks like it works!

My seat is padded. I might have to try that for short carries.

Padding a Bucket Canoe Seat

After decades of use of the original Hidden Valley yoke for my 1986 Advantage- my favorite solo yoke

When tripping I leave the hinged metal tabs in place (except during car top transport) and attach the ash yoke using the flexibility of the hull to slide the tabs into place. Near instantaneous installation on portages.

That yoke really was excellent. It’s a shame they were discontinued.

Thx for the tutorial. I bought the new Wenonah pad and like it but I'd like to have the z-rest foam permanently installed too vs carrying a piece separately like I currently do.

I think the padded seat frame works better than you might expect for carrying, at least for a lightweight boat. I sold the Wenonah yoke that came with my used Advantage. I also thought about trying a hard hat or bicycle helmet since it does balance nicely using the seat frame. I'm mostly a day paddler and I like to be able to lift the boat off the vehicle and take it directly to the put-in.
