Does anyone have any recent info on this portage, such as its current state? I don't believe it's shown on many maps; but I have heard that it exists.

I walked this in 2020 and have the route, elevation, etc. tracked. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Some maps have the McFarland side too far west. The trail we used had the McFarland side being directly north of the McFarland-Pine channel.

I have elevation starting around 1477 at McFarland, going up to 1777, and then down to around 1565 on the East Pike side. These may not be precise elevations.

I don't recall any issues with overgrowth or lack of maintenance, but that was 6 years ago.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that it seems to be maintained. I'm considering taking it when I'm paddling in the area on a trip this fall.

I did that in June of 2021. As DTrain mentioned, the portage entrance on McFarland is east of where it's indicated on most maps. We spent a fair bit of time looking in the wrong place. Follow DTrain's advice and go straight north once on McFarland (if coming from Pine).
I recall it being on the moderate to difficult end as portages go, especially single portaging on a hot day.
