If you’re looking for a spot this year I would think that it won’t happen. Boulder Bay and surrounding areas are great fishing destinations—maybe next year.

EP12 or since you are basecamping on Lac La Croix you could do EP12A which limits you to camping on LLC but still allows you to day trip to other lakes. Given this year’s fires, EP14 or others to the east might not be great options depending on portage condition. Note that you can arrange a tow for EP12 or 12a if you don’t want to do the long paddle from Crane Lake to LLC.
