Is there a way to see which outfitters stay open beyond 10/1, without contacting them all individually?

Check their websites? Most outfitters have their seasons and hours posted somewhere on their website.

Check with Sawbill Outfitters. It seems to me that they are open into October. The Sawbill Lake Campground is open, but I think they turn off the water spigots on 10/1. They might also turn off some of their services (e.g. showers/laundry) at the same time.

Last fall they posted on 10/22/2025 that their season was over. It was in their Blog/News section and I had to dig down through the dates.

Find the post in here.

It also talks about how they turn off the water in the campground and shower house when the temps dip below freezing at night.

If you’re going I on the Ely side, I know Piragis is open until the end of October. Call any outfitter and I’d bet they’d work something out with you no matter what.

I'd agree that most outfitters would be happy for the business later into the season due to missing out on their most profitable portion of the season.

It depends. I trip in October every year and I would say actually a majority of the outfitters close shop after 10/1, and those that don't normally will reduce available services (tows, bunkhouses etc). The ones with a retail presence or who do 12 month outfitting (winter camping, ice fishing) are usually your best bets.
