I had an 8/20 EP for LIS-N. Today it was cancelled by the FS. I’m not at all surprised given conditions. Even if the fires in that area were out I was expecting a cancellation.

Thank you to the FS personnel putting themselves in harms way fighting these fires.

I figure there might be other folks who are getting this message today.

My buddy also just got notified that our LIS North permit for mid September was canceled and fully refunded. It’s my understanding that the FS is cancelling all OP permits for EP14, 15, and 19 for the remainder of the quota season (thru Sept 30). Curiously, EP 16-Moose/Portage River North was not yet included in this cancellation, although it looks like you could still put together a decent route from EP16 without entering the current burn areas.
