Where does the Arrow River flow?
I had assumed the Arrow River flowed from Arrow Lake into Rose Lake then to Rove and Watap. This week my group paddled to the east side of Rose to the 2 mile portage. We were surprised the creek/river flowed into Rose and not out of Rose. Does the Arrow River flow into Arrow Lake?
Are Rove and Watap easy to reach from Mountain Lake?

There is a hole of about 20ft depth where the Arrow River meets the Pigeon River just down stream from Fort Charlotte and a little bit up stream from Out Law Bridge old hwy 61. You should be able to drive to Partridge Falls just up stream from Fort Charlotte on the Pigeon River to the Heli Pad. Driving to Out Law Bridge site from the Canadian side of the old hwy 61 is easy not too sure if you can drive to the American side of old hwy 61 Out Law Bridge maybe quad? The NA probably left small canoes at Fort Charlotte using larger canoes to reach Isle Royal Minong Mine in the spring high water period and leaving in the fall high water period with the copper mined during the summer. During the fur trade the European's just copied this approach leaving the smaller inland canoes at Fort Charlotte while the larger Montreal canoes went to and from Grand Portage.

Cam,
I’m really interested in your name. I’m sure it has something to do with the Kam River that flows past Fort Williams in Thunder Bay.
You seem to know some stuff about Pigeon River / Arrow River. Have you paddled either of these rivers down to Lake Superior?

Duluth the French Soldier had a Fort Caministigoyan/ Kaministiquia on the Kaministiquia River probably early French post on plate hut design typical of the Province of Quebec/Louisiana. His brother had a Fort (hut) on Lake Nipigon Ombabika Bay mouth of the Ombabika River probably to cut off furs from reaching the English at Moose Factory James Bay. The Duluth Brothers explored the Lake Nipigon, Lake Superior, Lake Winnipeg and Mississippi River as far as Harper's Ferry with Black Robe Hennipen I think? There isn't much on the French Soldier Duluth I believe his house in Montreal burned after his death removing all of his records?
