How are the water levels on that annoyingly low creek? How are the mud levels on that annoyingly muddy portage along the annoyingly low creek?

We are headed that way from sawbill on Friday. Not sure when your trip is, but I'll be sure to comment if it's after we come back out.

It'll be labor day, and lots can change in few weeks, but I sure am curious.

You could come at it from a different direction. Go up the Temperance River. Head over to Kelly Lake and then had north to South and North Temperance Lakes. Of course, you would have to do the annoying Sitka to Cherokee portage, but it would not be the annoying creek and annoying muddy portage.

Or you could choose to drive up to Missing LInk Lake or Cross Bay Lake entries and then you could paddle to Cherokee without being annoyed at all. However, somehow, I think you would find something to be annoyed at on that route.

I am annoyed that you got to go this year and are complaining about having to work around a little adversity. I had to cancel my trip. It is the route I was planning. At this point, I would have welcomed the chance to wade knee deep in the mud. So let's see who is more annoyed.

Please seek counseling. This is in no way a normal response to a slightly jokey question (though I am curious about that dang creek!) No one is whining but you. I was curious about a half hour that can be annoying on a multi-day trip to a really nice lake. This all is your problem and no one else's.

Yes, I thought both parties were joking and I laughed at both posts.

The portages werent terribly muddy except the 110 rd one. The 95rd portage is only about 10rds now due to a very large beaver dam. You will have to pull over 2 beaver dams; the one blocking up the creek for the 95rd portage and there is also one on Cherokee creek. Even having to wait for 3 groups to portage over, we left sawbill at 9am and made Cherokee by 2ish. Hopefully the groups you share the portages with display a little better etiquette than we witnessed.
