Hello all,

I have cousins flying in from the west coast for their first ever BWCA trip this week. We are all older guys.

I’m curious about the water levels in creeks, rivers and so on.
The planning stages of our trip went well and the guys are excited.

Reality is setting in for the and I have a few concerns about th trip logistics. Our trip from Brule and exiting at Sawbill might be shortened a bit to let the old guys enjoy the experience. I can take anything that comes my way, these guys might not be as enthusiastic.

Thanks,
Tom

I wasn't on Brule last week, but I was on Homer which is a mile or two south. Water levels were typical for mid-September. We hit some rocks that we likely could have paddled over in May. That said, everything looks pretty much how I'd expect it.

Water level up the Vern River was just fine, again for mid-September. Flowing current, but much reduced from the spring. Necessitated picking up the canoe in some spots that we likely could have paddled over or lined in the spring.

Not sure if this helps...

Mike
