i finally figured out that i can have tuna for lunch.

get the tuna in the foil packs, it's a little more expensive but its worth it. you can get mayo that doesn't need refrigerated at pretty much any fast food restaurant in the little condiment packets. you can also get relish in the little condiment packs.

also the bacon ranch Suddenly Salad mix is great, and all you need is a half cup of mayo (about 10 packets)

Kclamken, That sounds great! Very clever! Every year we always try to find new ideas for at least one or two meals. I will keep that one in mind for sure. I was considered bringing along the tuna in the foil packs & put it into a tortilla with cheese for a tunamelt. Is their cheese that doesn't have to be refridgerated that would keep tho?

we always take block cheddar cheese. it doesn't spoil and won't get moldy in a week so youre pretty safe with it. Velveeta sill also keep for about a week

We also take block cheddar with no problems. I usually break up the block into pieces and vac pack them. Each pack has enough cheese for 1-2 days. Then I use the cheese packs one at a time over a 1-2 day period before opening a new pack. This helps them from getting to oily during the week.

Tuna and cheese melts are one of our favorites! We travel with small children and bring a lot of cheese. Heavy, but satisfying. We have brought Colby, Cheddar, Monteray Jack, and cream cheese. We have never had a problem (other than deciding who get to carry the food pack). Sometimes the cheese can get a little bit oily after a few days, but it still tastes fine. We also bring a few packets of salsa. Enjoy!

Well, we had our tuna sald this past week in the BW. Like Kclamken stated above, we mixed the tuna with mayo, pickle relish & a little mustard & put it in a tortilla. It was great! It was a hot day & we didn't want anything hot so it was perfect for an afternoon meal. We were sitting on a big rock on our campsite & people had canoed by & inquired what we were eating. We said we had a tuna wrap. They were amazed. Another great idea given by someone on this site. Thanks again for the idea Kclamken! The only unfortunate thing was that it was the only fish we able to eat all week. In otherwords, our fishing wasn't too good! We had a few big northerns on our lines right off of our campsite on Fourtown, but they snapped our lines. We could even see them, so close! Bummer! We are heading back up in early August to Disappointment Lake so hopefull we will have beter luck with the fish. If not, we will have our tuna wraps once again!
