I was in the area too and luckily on small water. Those swells look HUGE on Agnes. But still better than NO trip right?

Wind and cold certainly seem to be the themes of the trips so far this year. Hopefully the weather is more cooperative on your next trip.

Well as I told the kids, we usually do have awesome weather. I guess we were just lucky it did not rain all the time. I have read others post that they have had rain their whole trip.

Thanks for the trip report. It seems that the May trips this year were cold, windy and a bit wet.

I always say that its better to have a bad BWCA trip than no trip at all.

We also fought the winds last Wednesday and Thursday. Crossing Ima from W to E on Thursday was a bit hairy for my buddy who was in the solo boat, as he was continuously getting turned broadside. By the time we made it to the portage from Ima to Hatchet, the swells were very large and the waves were breaking right into the narrow, rocky landing. It was quite the adventure to say the least!

Glad you could enjoy the trip in spite of the weather. It sure was a challenge. Anytime you go from the 30's to the 80's there is going to be some exciting weather. Thanks for posting a great report.
