Great report Nav! Time spent with your two boys in the great outdoors....priceless! Good times, good scenery, relaxation, and some challenges....nothin' wrong with that. Brought back some memories from this years and last years trips. Thank you.

Navigator...
Your trip was very reminiscent of our trip to the Shell/Hertiage #14 area.... my two sons and I (29 and 32) make a bi-yearly trip to my "most favorite" place to go.... the BWCAW...
I know what kind of trip you had !!!!!
AWESOME---RIGHT???
how was the Bell as compared to Wenonah MNIII?

AWESOME is the only word for it! It is so awesome to be able to spend that quality time without competing interests when they are at home!
I loved the Bell! It performed admirably even under some pretty harsh conditions. I think I have a new favorite canoe :)

Nice trip report - we just got back (7/10-7/15) from the Frost River. I'll warn anyone that is planning to run the river it is very low. There were spots that we had to drag through mud for 30' or so. Lots of rocks to avoid. And the submergent weeds are on the surface so your paddling through them - drag on your canoe.

Thanks for posting. I did the Frost River in the mid 80's. I remember that beach on Frost and the big rock in the middle of the lake too.
In 1988 I was solo in Quetico in august and saw a huge dark straight line wall cloud approach me at a site before slamming me with high winds and rain where branches fell all around my tent. I was terrified. Wonder if it could be the same storm you went through?
Taking my 17 year old for his second trip in august. You're right, time waits for no one. Glad you could make some memories and hope you guys have many more trips together.
