I'm so excited...I bought a new camera and it's on it's way here. It's a Kodak EasyShare Z980. Not the DSLR I covet, but the best that I can afford, I think. I plan to keep it in a dry bag attached to the canoe, probably attached to the bar of my seat (I'm in bow). Other suggestions? I'm totally broke now that I bought this (LOL) so any suggestions for cheap camera protection? Already have regular dry bags.

Congrats nojobro! The best camera is the one you have with you when you see that magical shot.

I use a dry bag in a similar manner. One thing I do is put my camp towel and/or extra clothes on the bottom of the dry bag to provide some protection for the camera.

nojobro,
Hey! Congratulations!....I have an old Kodak P850 and am envious! You can get wonderful photos with a camera like that....I've had multipal photos in the Boundary Waters Journal with my P850. The key to that is luck & subjest matter. Once in a while even a blind pig will find an acorn.

I keep my camera in a waterproof bag some of the time and just trust to luck and have it ready a lot......you don't get many pictures when the camera is hard to get out of the bag.

Newegg has some good deals on SD memory chips!
Enjoy your new tool!
