Nice report, and great pictures! I particularly liked the nighttime shot over the fire at the 2 of you, it turned out wonderfully.

It's good when the things that go wrong can be fun memories instead of something to grumble about....

Great report! I was glad to see a report using the Long Haul portage and the exit through Horse Lake since I am thinking of doing something similar next year. Nice pictures! Was Horse Lake pretty busy when you came through? (That seems like an option for making the last day a shorter one.) Thanks for sharing!

Horse Lake was really busy, but I was going at peak time in August. When we passed through around 10 or 11 AM people were either vacating sites or just arriving to the lake so you might need to arrive early if you wanted to camp there. I saw open sites but people were heading too them already. With the cost, exchange rate, new fishing regs, and passport requirements maybe more people are switching to the BWCAW becuase it seemed extra busy while The Quetico was almost empty.

OGG, Mark Anderson drove our car to Mudro from Crane Lake. I think they charge $125-150 to do that.
