Hey Fishguts, that's the picture you had published in the BWJ, isn't it? It is a great shot. I was wondering, when they selected it for publication, did you have to sign away your rights to it? Just wondered how that worked.

07/15/2006 05:40PM

No I didn't sign anything...I think by sending the photos to them that I have given them permittion to use the photos....but I don't believe that I have given up my rights to them. Thanks for the interest!!

It's a picture of a dragonfly coming out of it's shell. I took it on Budside Lake in the Quetico in June. It crawled up on one of the guy's raingear and started morphing out. There was lots of it going on.

That is a great shot!

Thanks guys.

That was indeed a special morning on Wagosh Lake. I'm just glad I was lucky enough to be there and have an opportunity to try and capture some of the beauty from that morning. It was what I would consider the perfect BWCA morning.

Taken on Little Vermillion at the start of my solo border lake trip from Crane - John Lake and then back and out at E. Bearskin. I stopped at this island for a late supper and after stopping to eat a loon popped up and checked me out.

Hi Alan,

You need to be logged into the site to post photos. I am not sure that that is your problem though since you seem to be seeing the link?

Drop me an email and well figure it out --> info@bwca.com

Great photos everyone!! I am looking for a couple last photos for several thousand full color calendars that we print and distribute for free. I think many of these photos would work. I am looking for lakes/nature or animal photos that are of good quality (4+ megapixel camera or an original photo developed at a store, not printed on home printer) in landscape form (more wide than tall). If anyone would like more info or to submit photos, you will have the photo credit and free calendar(s). I looked through some of the photo journals also, but do not know how to contact these people. Please let me know if you are interested... thank you, Lory. 218-326-7067 or lorybob@paulbunyan.net

This is the first time I have entered a photo contest and, well, I'm glad I don't have to judge!

Stunning scenery - early morning mist - wow
Incredible wildlife and nature shots - and the fire in the grate with dark lake and foliage in the background - very interesting, unique shot.

I think I would go crazy if I had to decide. Looking forward to seeing more from apparently very talented photographers on this site.

snakecharmer,

Perfect place and perfect time.

I was lucky, that bird was very cooperative and with the fog, the island and the spider webs, I was definitely blessed. I have many pic's of this bird taking off, landing and hunting.
Sometimes it pays too have the camera ready.

I would like to thank the staff, moderators and everyone who entered the contest.
Every month I am amazed at the quality of the pictures.
