It is time to start the January 2010 Photo Contest.

The theme for this month's contest is "Winter".

Monthly Category: Winter Shots in Canoe Country

Along with the hat, the winner will also get a bwca dice cup from member dicecupmaker, and award from Wilderness Passages Magazine, created by long time member QPassage. He is giving a free copy of their great magazine and a 2 1/2 hour DVD of Quetico footage to the winner of the photo contest and trip report contest. For more information about Wilderness Passages, you can visit their website at WildernessPassages.com

- You can only enter one photo per monthly contest. You can enter the same photo if it did not win in a previous month.

- You must be the photographer of the photo.

This will allow you to upload a photo from your computer to the contest or allow you to select a photo which you have already loaded into your photo gallery on this site. If you want to enter your photo in another way, please contact us.

- Please describe in the message the location of the photo.

- Judging will be done by the www.bwca.com staff and moderators.

This is one of my favorite shots. That's my son heading back to camp after fishing all day on Ramshead Lake in February 2009.

Nym Lake day trip into Batchewaung. No fish were caught, but it was a balmy March 2009 day that barely required gloves or hats. Amazing how nice 45 degrees feels in the wilderness snow!

Photo Description:
Taken at Lake One on 01/18/2010 around 2:30pm CST. I think this picture provides a good perspective of great winter adventure in BWCA. When lakes are frozen, the dog sled teams are out and running!
