I tend to be a little long winded.

I'm still working on the pictures. I don't know which ones of the 1000 that we have should go in the web.

I will take all my pics and resize them to "websized", and then copy a few hundred to my personal web server. From there, LINKS to this site.

Geo! Great story, I'm prnting it out for more reading. Loved the follow-up on the Trailer story that was on the site while you were in the middle of it! Glad it all turned out OK and sounds like you had a good trip....can't wait till you get your pictures together.

What do you use to resize your pictures with? I use Photoshop and it's pretty tedious. Seems like there oughta be something out there that's more streamlined.

I know..........and no biggie.

I use XnView Pro. This is the purchased version. It is under 40 bucks and does lots of cool stuff.

I like the batch rename and the batch resize. I use those options quite often.

I also use a tool that I wrote to help matchup and sync pictures from multiple cameras. When you go on a trip with 6 different guys, you might end up with 6 different sets of pictures, with different timestamps, etc, etc. If you want them in chronological order, that may become a pain if they camera date/time is not set right or not set at all. The process I wrote allows you to load all pics and order by the camera, and then use a thumbnail to "map" the exif date/time taken to a common time between all the pictures.

If the time is off by an hour or a day or a year or whatever, I can tell the software to change the exif date/time taken in a picture to whatever an offset date/timestamp. THE offset is based on the pictures date/timestamp + - the BASE pictures timestamp.

Presto Chango.....after using my rename process, the pictures are now in chronological order, and I can then rename use XnView to Name + Date + timestamp to create pictures name Quetico_2010_05_21_10_10_11, or something like that.

WORKS GREAT.

Great trip report Geo. Always love the fishing reports the most.

That heat would have been hard for me to handle...I don't like
much over 75. On our trip we didn't get anything even into the
70's a little over a week after you were in. We did get quite
a bit of rain though.

Wow, now that's something I could use. My Olympus was off by an hour or more for the first few days of my trip, so I had to resort to a somewhat more complex file numbering system than I usually use to get the pics to sort correctly in Bridge.

Geo, I think we were loading up off the water while you were. We were loading a green window van as you were lacing up a tarp on your trailer. We think we also saw you broken down around Madison Sunday. We left Ely early Sunday AM. We didn't see anyone around outside the trailer and blew on by. Had I known you were a boardmember I would have insisted stronger that we go back to help. Sorry. Glad it worked out . Great report.
