I've tried it once and found they are incredibly smart. Has anyone else tried this?

Not me personally but the husband of a co-worker has made a couple of attempts at the Polly/Malberg problem bears and came up empty. I know the FS was more than happy to point them in the direction of problem bears.

Good hunting.

Thanks, we had talked to six other groups who had hunted the same lake looking for the same bears and we all came out empty handed.. giving up and hoping a normal bear says hi!

It could be that about the time people start hunting bears travel in the BWCAW or other camping areas really declines so the bears move on to a better food area. Otherwise these should be easy bears to hunt and ones that should be hunted---actually for their own good so they might develop a healthy fear of humans.
