I just got this book from the library. I have only skimmed it thus far, but it seems great. There is even a section on what I would call "keeping the kids entertained" at the back. (The author calls it "connecting with nature.") The author is from Alaska, has four kids, and has had them all out in the wilds since they were tiny babies.
