I wanted to thank everyone for all of your help in getting me started. I received a new pair of Madshus Voss skis w/ Rotefella Telemark 3 pin bindings and Alico leather boots for Christmas. I went out yesterday with my 9 year old son for the first time. I realize that the waxing conditions were easy-14 degrees and dry powder snow, but I experienced a perfect day of skiing. I was pretty unsure that my attempt at waxing would work, but it was like magic. None of the ZZZZ...ZZZZ.ZZZZ of no wax skis, just quiet grip and glide.
