In addition to being avid backpackers and canoe campers my wife and I are avid birders and are always excited to meet others who share our love for the avian world. We live in a unique area of northwestern wisconsin which allows us to see numerous species of birds and hope to be sharing bird experiences and sightings with all of you.

I too enjoy watching and feeding birds. Right now my feeders are crowded with goldfinches, chickadees, nuthatches, hairy woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, bluejays, and red bellied woodpeckers. One that is missing in action this year is the Dark Eyed Junco. I wonder where they are.

Current visitors to our feeders are Downy, Hairy, Red-Bellied, and a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers. We also get daily visits from a Northern Flicker, Blue Jays, and a few Gold Finches. We had Chickadees, White and Red Breasted Nuthatches, Juncos, And Cardinals until a month ago. Not sure where they went.

MP,

Plenty of those dark eyed Juncos where I'm at. What I'm missing are the Nut hatches. They have thinned out a bit for some reason. Usually stay year round.
