Early May, 2009. At the end of the portage from Home to Gull Lake. After days of gray, the brilliance of moss pushing through the leaf litter was lovely.

Really nice. You don't see those often.

There's an island we camp on in Quetico that has ladyslippers all back in the woods. We counted 10 plants bloming all at once a couple of years ago. It was incredible.

Very cute!! Have to worry about where mom and/or dad were though. Game fish will take those babies no problem. Hope they were close nearby and reunited quickly.
