I live near a couple of small marshes that are near farm fields, and yesterday I heard the mating calls of several Sandhill Cranes. Very cool bird. I can't believe there is a bill in Minnesota to have a hunting season on them. Who would want to shoot such a cool bird.

Couldn't agree more. Probably the guy on this board who claims to have shot 400 crows.

I also agree but have been told that they are much better eating than ducks and geese.

I saw a small flock this morning on my way to work. Beautiful bird.
