Looking for the best kayak tripping in the midwest. So far I am aware of the apostle islands and Isle royale. I like big water but am not opposed to rivers. What say you?

Apostles are very nice. I was there last year (here's some pics a friend took of that trip) although the weather didn't cooperate well. Haven't been to Isle Royale but I hear it's pretty awesome as well. On the way to the Apostles, we stopped off at Pictured Rocks, and wished we'd planned for more time there.

This year I'm planning to head to Georgian Bay in Lake Huron. It's supposed to be pretty cool too.

That looks absolutely incredible. I can't wait to get up there.

Check your local library, there are many books about canoeing and kayaking Wisconsin rivers and trails. With great maps and places to put in and camp. I've spent more time reading so far than actual paddling, hoping to change that trend this summer.
