My group is planning to have hummus every day for lunch. (in addition to other stuff) I have a couple recipe ideas to "spice up" the hummus. I'm planning to put a lunch worth of hummus powder in a zip lock and add spices to it, with a different flavor each day.

One will be curried fruit hummus with curry, dried apples, and dried mangos.

Another will be Zatar-spiced hummus.

A third will be salsa hummus with tomato powder and a salsa packet added.

I have a couple other ideas floating in my head... smoked paprika, tandoori spice, greek spices....

Anyone else have a good hummus recipe?

Thanks.

Roasted red pepper and feta. Blackbean.

Sorry, I never saw this before.

I'm a roasted garlic hummus girl. Gimme the garlic, all the way. Yum.

Are you using powdered hummus and adding in the flavors? Do tell.

Yes, powdered hummus. I have three flavors worked out (see above), and am still trying to come up with about two more.

I'm starting to pack up for our trip. Planning to bring dried hummus again in a variety of flavors. Last year, the curried fruit and greek spiced were the biggest hit. Just bumping this in case anyone wants to share different spiced mixtures.

I love hummus and spicy food. However, sometimes with heat and the exertion of paddling/portaging I find that relatiively bland food is best.

My two cents is to keep the hummus simple - mild garllic, mild heat -even if you love the extremes. Sometimes one bite too many and you never want to eat it again.

Anyone know where to get hummus powder in the Twin Cities?

I was reviewing old threads this morning. I did not have my glasses on and thought this thread was "Flavor of Humans" which caught my eye. That would lighten the food pack but I would hate paddling a large canoe solo.
