Want to find a very remote river in Arkansas for canoeing or kayaking. Flat.water rivers to maybe class 2. No white water rivers. Any suggestions ? Id like to do this in March . Wed be camping as well. Looking for other southern suggestions that are remote and warmer than Mn in March . I know nothing is super warm in March but it can be!

Buffalo River. 130 miles of up to class 2 + below Ponca. Class 3 and 4 above Ponca.

There is plenty of info if you Google Buffalo River.

It can be cold in March. At the end of the month is a little better. Early on there is likely to be snow and freezing temperatures.

Until you get to Florida things are not really warm in March though Louisiana is close. Temps even in north Florida in March can get down to just above freezing. Buffalo National RIver

Never paddled in Arkansas but I did get pulled over by a trooper there once. Was doing nothing wrong, was pulled over only because I had Florida plates on my car. After he realized I was a navy guy just driving through he stated they get lots of drug runners from Florida so they will pull over Florida plated cars just to check them out.

ditto yellowcanoe's post. buffalo is a great trip. if you want warm head for the suwannee river in north central florida or head on down to the everglades.

I am heading to SC to do the Edisto and then to Northern Florida for a week of base camping and river running. Silver, Juniper, Rainbow, Wacilla, Econofina.

And four days in the Everglades..again. (already did ten in January)

There is a lot of info at florida paddling trails
