Thought I'd start this thread here for people to link music info/songs/etc. In keeping with copyright laws, only post stuff that you have the rights to.

Waitin' for the Dog to Die is a song I wrote about procrastination (something I know about first-hand). This recording is really rough, and Jeff got some of the words wrong (most notably "wrath of my friends" rather than "grief of my friends" in the second to last verse). Think of it as a place-holder until we re-record it. We've played live only shows for the last 15-20 years and just started recording some stuff in the last few months, so we're kind of used to the raw experience of live music. This was recorded in one take.

The big band is called Old, Fat and Gray and it consists of the following musicians:

me- washtub bass, some lyrics (about 6 or 7 songs, including the two posted so far)
Jeff- rhythm guitar, harmonica, lead and backing vocals, most lyrics, and all music (about 35-40 original songs)
Clyde- rhythm guitar, backing vocals, some lead vocals
Arvid- lead guitar

We do our original stuff plus covers from Neil Young (almost his whole song book), Jackson Browne, Gram Parsons, Eagles, blues from Louis Jordan, Little Walter, Little Milton, John Mayall, etc. Throw in a little Dylan, James Taylor, the Doors, Skynyrd, John Prine, Ozark Mnt Daredevils and other stuff. We're kind of all over the map. We have played coffee shops, bars, parties, house parties and campfires. We were playing in a lot of bars in the last couple of years and it just got to feel too much like work. We're not in it for the money (which is a good thing as there ain't much), just the joy of playing together.

The two songs I posted to myspace were just me and Jeff (bad tullibee, a name tossed out when we were ice fishing a while ago) messing around with his computer recording program (Session, I think)and just learning all the ins and outs of that. We don't play with a drummer, but created tracks from the program for these songs. I will continue to post stuff as we create it.

A belated return visit, but I just listened to "waiting for the dog to die" for the first time. Nice work. Jeffs vocal reminds me of Bob Wier (Grateful Dead) I think I already know the answer to this but why don't you guys recruit a drummer?

I bought a Roland DR 670 drum and bass composer this winter that is above and beyond the old TR 626 I used in a duet 15 years ago. That thing sounded less like a real drum kit and more like a click track.

We've never found a drummer that is as spontaneous as we seem to be.
