my first solo trip is may 18th, i will be doing a sawbill, brule, winchell, points north, long island, ect, loop. just wondering how you other solo geeks are handling the itch to really get out there. i will be hammocking again, which will be super fun.

I'm not ready yet! Who would have thought that iceout would be this quick? I've got my canoe in pieces right now as I'm repairing rotted gunwhales and replacing seats, ect. I've also got a new Kruger Sea Wind on order but that won't be ready for a month or so.

Grounded for now, BeaV

Loading my pack as we speak. I hope to be on the water in the morning, snow or no snow.

Well, bwcasolo...I've been trying not to think about it since mine's not until Sepot. But I wasn't having much luck anyway.

I hope you have a good first solo.

Not well, in answer to your question. I'm on my final two months of work, and it is all I can do to make myself go. When I'm done, it will be a week with the Mrs, finishing off the "honey-do" list, then off to the trail-head.

I'm starting on Brule, doing Cherokee and Frost River, then Gabi. then I may head over to Otter Track and Knife. It really doesn't matter. I will have food for two weeks. If the fish are biting - it could last longer. If they are biting well - it could last a lot longer. What a glorious feeling!

My solo is set for August 29th, ...so I don't dare let the itch start getting to me yet, .....but it's hard not to!

I've had the itch for some time now. May 21 departure. Little Vermillion east to South Fowle and then back up the border lakes to meet a friend at Wilderness Canoe Bass on Seagull for two weeks in Quetico.

On a road trip right now. Had to put $600 into my van... ouch/! Looking forward to getting back and loading up for wing night. Then coming home and gearing up for a great summer.

Just purchased my first solo canoe. Was planning on going with a buddy to WCPP in late July for two weeks, but he got himself a job in Glacier National Park. Cannot find anyone else interested in joining me, so it looks like my first ever solo will also be my first ever trip to WCPP departing on July 21.

I fear a solo is not in the cards this year. But I had an awesome last year so I can live with that.

I was really anxious to get out & try my new hammock, just got back from a few days hunting in Nebraska... now I'm really pumped to hit the water in the BWCA. No solo plans yet, I do have a trip with son, brother, nephew & uncle in June.

Might be able to take Memorial weekend solo, don't know if it will be a hike or canoe trip yet.

I managed an eight day solo (turned to nine with the weather) ending on Tuesday and hope to get on the water again in mid-may. Did not see a soul from put in to take out.

Last two days were tough travel though.

Beautiful photograph of an unusual canoe country scene. No doubt a trip for the memory bank.

Heading out myself this morning, but thinking I'll get off much easier weather-wise. Then again it's April, so who knows.

Don't know exactly when or where but I'm sure it will happen. Have to get other summer plans worked out first. Solo get scheduled where it fits in...

i'll be off for La Croix on June 6th.the last of the food in the form of a box of dry egg mix and a few MRE dinners arrived during the week so i'll be laying out meals next week and getting the food pack ready.
i have my pack and some of the bigger items like the tent and sleeping bag, some clothes, wash kit in my den ready to go.
the day bag is always the bug-a-boo and i fool around with that until the last few days.

May 17, Kawishiwi Lake. I want to check out that area and see what the fire did. Third week in Sept will be in the Clearwater area hoping for some fall colors. Summer trips aren't set a yet.
