Don't get me wrong. I've been a Christian since I was 18. Its just that, sometimes I'd rather deal with drunks.
One of the first times I noticed this - my room mate from bibleschool and I had decided to hitch hike around the US for the summer. Stuck in blistering heat at the San Benadino on ramp, we were overjoyed to see a Lincoln with air conditioning pull up. We grabbed our packs and ran over to the car. The passenger rolled down the window a couple inches and shoved out some gospel tracts then sped off. We were later picked up by a drunk in a convertible who bought us lunch. My room mate posed the question, "Which one did God send?"
Well, there's certainly plenty of hypocrisy out there and I wish it wasn't so. I have no explanation sometimes. Nctry, I think you might be right- it's so often more about what God is doing in us than what God is doing for us.
