I just pulled a permit for LIS North on June 26 for my first solo trip. I know this area pretty well, so I thought that would help for a first solo. Looking forward to returning to Little Loon, Slim, Steep, Gun, etc. enroute to Gebe, Oyter & Agnes. Not sure if I'll complete the loop back to LIS or put out @ Moose River and hitch a ride back to LIS.

Nice. I did the interior loop south of LLC last year. Did not go as far east a Agnes. It was awesome.

What is just sinking in is the fact that I can extend this trip as long as I want to (within reason, of course) or truncate it without worrying about anyone else...that is an incredible feeling!

Especially with my dad gone I feel myself extending trips this year like that. I'll be packing plenty of food so I can just stay out there as long as I "need". Another nice benefit to soloing.

Are you home now, Ben? If so, welcome back! I will see you this Saturday.

Or change it any way you want on a whim. You can go wherever you want, do whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want. Enjoy it!

I am envious of the time flexibility, though. I have enough to extend a day if needed or desired, but them must get home for work. I hope I'm still able when I retire - I'd like to just travel go up there for 4 - 6 weeks and do various things.

I am lucky with the time piece, although I do get frustrated that I am really limited during the school year. Cannot complain, however, as a teacher, I am blessed with significant chunks of time throughout the year to be with my family.

Congrats Frenchy19, one nice thing about soloing-if you want to change your plans you just turn your canoe and do it. No meetings or arguments (except with yourself) Have fun and take care.
