Great short report Ragged.
Was curious about your battery usage on your phone and wondered if you had back-up power as well. I know that gps tracking can eat it up in no time. I have used the Mophie (sp) which worked quite well, though now there may be something even better.

A weather proof high performance battery pack was one of my products I was testing, I was running everything off it, fish finder, phone, camera.
You are correct on the GPS draining a phones battery in short notice, 3 hours or so I suppose if you are not waking it up to look at the screen too much. I know on the iphone turning its brightness setting down a bunch can really help the life if you are looking at it here and there.
I don’t know as if I have heard of that App, I have been using MotionX for about a year and have been pretty happy with it, sure it has its limitations but for a $1 I’m not going to complain, works perfect for me.

Cool trip report. "Damn you high priced chili" made me laugh out loud!

What is the battery pack that you were testing and how did it do on the trip?

Nice first trip of the year. Solo's aren't for everybody, but it sounded like you still enjoyed it. I like to be social also and welcome a nice group solo. Both my dog and I have some weight to shed. So the next couple weeks will be busy. By the time I come off the second trip the end of June I should be doing pretty good. It's just good to hear a younger person enjoying the BW. Thanks for taking the time to clean up the messes you found.

It’s one of my own designs, it has many features that make it well suited for this type of use, nothing really like it out there, I’ll be sure to post some reviews when it gets closer to its final version.

I hoped someone would find some humor in my suffering! I had originally planned this trip for a few weeks ago, when it was much colder, and at that time Chili sounded like the perfect thing to warm me up, didn't even think of any ill effects that may be more noticeable while camping..... Lesson learned!

It was pretty good , not as good as my homemade but I don’t have a worthy dehydrator and didn’t have time to experiment with my oven, will try to figure out a homemade version for future use.
