I'm going up with the grandkids to Homer in September. I thought it might be fun to go to the Brule Lake Lookout Tower before putting in to Homer. I can't seem to find any trip reports covering the exact directions to get there off of FR326? Is there any parking areas off the road, a clear entry to the trail back to the tower, and how far is the hike?

It was taken down years ago. There is a hiking trail (The Brule Lake Trail) that might go past the place it used to stand.

But if you have the time, take the hike to eagle mountain. it's worth it. Steep toward the top but good views of lake country. It's the highest point in Minnesota. Parking lot off of the grade. (FR170)

We tried to find the trail to the Brule Lake Lookout Tower based on old Fisher maps. The trail is almost impossible to find, but once found it clearly hasn't been maintained in a decade. Fallen logs crossed it every 10 yards or so. Since we didn't have gear for bushwhacking, we decided not to venture it. Memorial Day, 2020.
