Has anyone done any canoeing here? It's in far northeastern Wisconsin about 11 miles west of the Village of Florence.

I love it. Hate to give away the secret. Great bass and bluegill fishing in Riley lake. The other lakes are not much to fish, but it has always been a nice quiet place to get away. I have done a couple of solo trips and a winter camping trip here. Email if you have specific questions.

If I am not too late replying.

The Whisker is a wonderful area. My family hunted it before it became a wilderness. Whisker Lake itself is pretty, but small.

Riley Lake is a nice lake. Clear with some sand beach from what I remember. Camp where you like. Have never fished it.

Google Maps satellite overlays and such show some pretty low water on those lakes, just FYI. Perhaps the levels are up now.

Edith Lake is a very nice lake, though the access to it has been restricted since the timber land was sold or leased and people built on it. It does appear that you can access from the east side and bushwhack in. Wisconsin waterway allows for use of any navigable waterway provided you are able to legally enter. Might be worth your time to check into how to access it without walking all the way from the west side (bad idea.)

There are some good trout streams around also.

Perch Lake on 2150 is also nice. Some marked campsites. Lost Lake is a gem, though it gets used some.

Spread Eagle Barrens is a nice area to explore.

Florence is a wonderful area. Some great wild rivers in the area and I think over 60% of the county has public access.
