Even though a northerner and GB Packer Fan I put a couple cups of the 5 minute stuff in a ziplock bag to spring on unsuspecting folk....worse I could do would be to poison a bear or something.
anyway on the label they wrote about instant flavored grits....
Butter, Chedder Cheese, Country bacon, Red Eye Gravy & Country Ham, and original.

Any folk out there ever try this stuff ???

Regular grits are so much better than instant and only take a few more minutes to cook. I like to add my own flavorings - butter, cheese, cayenne, garlic, black pepper, bacon, eggs, raisins, etc. Not all at the same time :)...but it might be interesting

Have not tried the quick grits but they sound good. We always take grits with us on trips. Mix anything ya want in em, good stuff.

The red eye gravy one sounds pretty good.

Grits are great with butter and sugar on them. Oh wait, just about anything is good with butter and sugar on it.

Instant grits every year along with oatmeal. Add raisins and honey.

I love grits and also polenta at home, but usually don't take it on a canoe trip. No reason not to, though.

Grits is course ground corn. I often take instant into the woods and add brown sugar and raisins. Makes for a very filling breakfast.
