That sounds like a pretty good first trip! Nice cedar strip canoe too. The problem with the BW is once you go, you want to go again :)

Nice trip report. We base camped on Rose about 7 years ago. Pretty lake with nice campsites. Enjoyed your trip report. Nice pictures and beautiful canoe. Have fun planning next year's trip!

Thanks for reading! I'll put up a picture of the bears once I get copies from the friends. It was a great trip and the canoe survived but did get a couple scratches I'll have to take care of at some point.

I got the bear pics (and a fox pic) added to the trip report. Somehow in my excitement I completely forgot to take my own pictures of them so I had to wait for our friends to get us a few of their pics. Enjoy!

Nice report! I've taken a couple groups in there for their first time, but never went east of the Falls area, only west. We saw a fox too (same one?) about a mile from Trail Center at the beginning of the road that goes to Boundary Country Trekking. I like that picture, I didn't get a good one. Certainly could be the same one. We saw it while driving along Lima Grade / FR1378 which appears to be the road to take to get to Boundary Country Trekking.
