I recently came across a guy who goes by the name babelfish5. He is an avid hiker/hammock hanger.
He has a real talent for coming up with the most AMAZING meals you can make from scratch for the trail. He gives them all away for free on his website (he is also on itunes, youtube, boxee, etc.).
For instance, my new favorite: TRAIL PESTO. He uses the following ingredients:
Trail Pesto
3/4 cup of fresh basil
2 cups fresh chopped cilantro
2 cups fresh chopped parsley
3/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 Tablespoon salt
3 cloves minced garlic
1 cup water
He does dehydrate it (since there is no oil in this recipe). Comes out amazing!
Go to his website for the entire recipe and instructions (click on recipe..its one of the top recipes listed):
http://www.hungryhammockhanger.com
All his recipes are cheap and easy (though some take a little bit of time....but more than worth it). His site is similar to this one, he offers a great service, and only offers the opportunity for you to make a donation if you want to help. Check out his site if you have the time.

Thanks for the site. Always lookin for new recipes. I also use the Backpacking Chef site. Love that bean bark stew.
Some people see nature as being made "Just for them", and view others as an invasive species..... We are always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group worked for their money .. the second group did not.” WTF???
