I have a wood stove that's accumulated some light surface rust. I'm thinking of lightly sanding the rusty areas and spraying the outside with some high temp paint to prevent further rusting. Good idea, bad idea, other ideas? Thanks.
No idea. I've always sanded and applied a light coat of Pam olive oil. Over the years it's gotten more difficult (I forgot to oil it one year). The door is slightly warped but the stove still does its job.
Here's the response I got from Kni-co, "You may use a high temp spray paint. Barbeque, and textured seem to work the best. Make sure to scratch surface (pretty hard) and wipe with rubbing alcohol, then spray."
