Looking at purchasing a wall tent to hold our family of 5. Do you think it could work? What about 5 adults? Too small? I'm sorta guessing so but a 6 person seems so big.

Tent is 10x13. Peak is 7'.

Sounds to me like at least one person would have to sleep on top of somebody they really like.

I take it its a hot tent? A 10x13 is kinda small for five adults. What you do not want is someone tripping over a body enroute to the potty at night and falling into the stove. I have seen that happen and it is no fun for anyone with loose stovepipe and loose stove.

We are two in a 9x11 tent and could go three safely. Might go four in a tent of your size.

While 6 seems to be a large tent it does give you room for perhaps other than sleeping. You might need to spend a bit of time in it in a storm. The only adjustment is you may need a bigger stove.

Thanks for the info. Yep, a hot tent.

I think we may go with a Fall Creek Suttlery for $349. Will fit 4 people and I can add the stove jack, etc. Our youngest is currently small and I'm thinking we could squeeze her in for a few years. Down the road we may switch to a 6 person. or get a 2 person to take with the 4 person.

You may want to try renting an empire canvas works for your first trip. That will give you a good idea about what size you need. Good luck!

I am thinking that the tent could work for 5 people. It may be tricky though. I would set it up in the yard and try out bag patterns until you find what works for your family. I would set the stove up or similar sised item and work around it. Good luck and happy camping!
