Thank you all so much for your prayers! It means a lot to me. Things at work were okay, but my relationship with my boss was not. When an appointment popped into my calendar at 4pm yesterday for 11am today, the "heavy heart" came on. I lost my job at that meeting this morning, explained as not for cause, just not a good fit. This happened to me three years ago also so I'm a little skittish. But, I'm thinking with these prayers on my behalf a better road must be ahead. Thanks again.

Will be praying for you... Sorry for the lost job.

Wow Toby... having had one of those meetings many years ago, I can relate just a little. I'm sorry to hear about your job loss and all that comes with it. It's never good, but hopefully things will be better soon.

Where are you located and what line of work are you in? You just never know... that someone who knows someone who is hiring...

Hi Jackfish,

I'm in higher education, been serving in dean roles for about the last 12 years. I live west of the Twin Cities.

Thanks for your prayers!

Prayers will continue to be sent from this end.
Just remember that your job was not the source of your income but God is the source.
He has something already planned for you.

So sorry to hear, but you've got to hold on to the fact that the man upstairs has a better road for you! It may not be smoother, may not be easier, may look more daunting, but you know Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

You'll remain in our thoughts and prayers!

Why is it that it sometimes feels humiliating to admit your need, especially to people you hardly know on a bwca messageboard? I have an interview this Friday for a job that seems like a good fit so if you pick up this message and can send prayers my way I would appreciate it.

I struggled to write this note though. I guess I just have to remember that God knows all of us by name and all these prayers ascend to him. Thank you all in advance for your prayers. I could use a little strength to fill in my weakness.

Many times it is difficult for us to ask for prayer because we tell ourselves that we don't want everyone to know our business and think others won't care! That is a lie from satan himself!! True believers care about everyone and prayers are powerful communication with the father above!

Be strong in your faith and your relationship with Jesus! Your are being prayed for my friend!

The enemy attack's any and every way he can. But often all it does is point out what you need to pray harder about. I will keep you in my prayer's and if this job is in God's plan it's your's if not please remember the lord will provide. God bless you and your family.

I don't visit this forum much. Sorry to hear about your job loss. Went through this myself in 2009. I can identify with your feelings and concerns. God has a plan for you, so keep the faith and rest in Him!

Freddy,

Thanks so much for your prayers! I haven't popped into here for a while. Being "out there" seems like a time when you alternate between times of hope and encouragement and times of despair and I didn't think it was worth posting. But, here you are, and I had an interview yesterday. Seems like more than a coincidence. Thanks for your prayers; we'll see how this one turns out.

I'm ready for prayer again. I have a phone interview on Friday. Wow, job loss can be so stressful on family and faith. Each day starts out well, with time for reflecting on the Scriptures, journaling and prayer. But, as the day goes on and the weeks and months pass it definitely is a battle. I'm grateful for part time work and God has provided for all our needs. I know I should be setting aside, or coming against, the anxiety, and trust in Him. It's just hard sometimes. Thanks for your prayers, friends!

Will continue to be in prayer.
Think of all the things that Job went through, and he came through. Your faith can only grow through this time.

Friends, thanks for your prayers. I'm happy to report answered prayer- I accepted an offer for a new job today. God's faithfulness was evident all along the way though, too. I always had enough work patched together to provide for all our needs. Thank you all so much!

Praise the Lord! Philippians 4:19 immediately came to mind when I read this. "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Not only does the Lord want us to learn His word, He likes to give us opportunities to apply it through various trials. Employment trials are always difficult ones. What's the new gig?

Well, two weeks after my last post my 27 year old son discovered he had cancer (yes, that kind). He had surgery and then follow-up bloodwork last week. He will, unfortunately, need chemo and starts next week. The prognosis for this type of cancer is good but we are headed into a challenging 3-4 months. Did I mention he and his wife also gave us our first grandchild, a little girl, two weeks ago? Anyway, if you are still out there and can send some prayers our way we would appreciate it. Thanks!

This is my first posting on this forum.

Tobiedog; I read this thread for the first time just a few days ago and you and your son have since been on my mind and in my prayers. I am reminded of the words of Job, that "man, born of woman, is short lived and glutted with agitation." How pointless, this life would be without the hope of the resurrection into paradise. Please let us know how your boy is doing and please, stay strong in the faith.
