Came across these interesting methods for grilling in an old book utilizing green branches. While this method wouldn't fly in the BW because of the use of live plants, it's interesting nonetheless and could be used elsewhere.
Used to teach that method to Boy Scouts. Don't anymore because of emphasis on LNT. A fun way to cook. On one troop campout, the scouts forgot to pack the cooksets. DOH! They knew better than to ask me to go back and get them, so they improvised. Amazing what a few green sticks, foil, and flat rocks can do when boys are hungry.

Yes, the boy scouts have interesting methods. I come across them in old books etc. Newer info to me, being a girl. :)
