You know it's the depth of winter when you start taking real interest in soccer on TV and thinking about nearly impossible routes for the summer trip. So...
I've seen a couple of threads about Rom Lake and routes to it / through it. Anyone actually been there?
A few folks speculated that a route could be found lost, more likely) through Rom as a bushwhack between Louisa and This Man. Also mentioned was the possible portage from Glacier into Gamp shown on early maps. Might get you on to Louisa. I know from my 70s-era Canadian topos that the area's high ground with a lot of elevation changes, and Google Earth and Bing show some intriguing possibilities but not clearly enough to know if it's passable. I figure it would take days and an in-shape crew. Any real world experience with the area?
Thanks in advance.

A couple of my friends did a trip into Rom Lake in the mid 1980's. From the stories I have heard it was a pretty brutal day getting into Rom. One of them spilled the boiling water in his foot as they made dinner on Rom, had to get out with blisters on his feet. It took the entire day for them to make it out of Rom and crash into Poacher for the last night of the trip. I can get more details on their route in and out if it is helpful.
