I like both. My Nook is easy to read on and can hold a small library. It stays open to the page I'm reading without having to hold it open and reopens to that page. Not all books I'm interested in are available as ebooks, but I suspect that this problem will diminish over time. My Nook (color) needs recharged too often to take on a canoe trip, but I have considered getting one of the smaller, lighter ones with longer battery life, but wonder how long it would last on a colder, late Sept. trip. I really don't want to carry a solar charger and I'm not sure what thge other options are. But I have a large library of books at home and I sometimes just want to have a book in hand.

I prefer books with paper pages. My wife seems to prefer the Kindle. I do have an iPad but I've only read magazines on it.

I know what you mean, Marty. Nothing beats holding a real book, and keeping it on a bookshelf forever. My NOOK's okay (liking the kid's Kindle better), but I stare at a computer at work all day, so it's nice to actually turn paper pages.
Of course, eBooks are generally less expensive - though I live in constant fear that it will lose my page or suddenly disappear the way electronic files tend to.
