I've done several overnighters and day trips with friends who lived in Mt. Pleasant.

We canoed and fished down the Chippewa R. starting at the Majeske canoe landing. Camped overnight at the Deerfield County Park campgrounds. This is only a few hours trip if you don't fish. Next day down to the pull-out at CRO. You can park your car there overnight and rent a canoe if needed (which we did). This river is highly popular with tubers (and boozers).

Had some fantastic fishing every trip catching bass, northern and crappie. Tons of mosquitoes at the campgrounds - once the campfire is going they do dissipate.
